“Welcome to my World” Presentation on All Three Campuses

WHEELING, W.VA – West Virginia Northern Community College’s (WVNCC) Vice President of Economic & Work Force Development, Larry Tackett, will host a presentation on all three of WVNCC’s campus’ titled “Welcome to my World,” chronicling a 20-year adventure in pictures that took him to over 30 countries. Presentations will be held on Monday, October 16 at the Weirton Campus (150 Park Ave., Weirton, W. VA.), Monday, October 23 at the New Martinsville Campus (141 Main St., New Martinsville, W. VA.) and Monday, October 30 at the Wheeling Campus (1704 Market St., Wheeling, W. VA.). The event is free and open to the public and will take place at 6 p.m.

Tackett will recount his living in tents and remote beaches for four and a half years, taking over 6,500 scuba dives, writing two books and discovering a new species of pygmy seahorse. He will also talk about his travels along the way that took him to Micronesia in the Western Pacific and across the Indian Ocean to the east coast of Africa, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and more.

West Virginia Northern Community College is a two-year comprehensive community college offering transfer degrees and programs in the Liberal Arts, Career-Technical and Community and Continuing Education on three campuses in the northern panhandle.
